BROUGH FARMERS' MARKET
This page should be updated about 2 weeks before the next market (but sometimes later), as soon as we are reasonably sure that the information will be accurate.

THE February MARKET
The next Farmers’ Market will be held on Saturday February 18th. It takes place in our usual venue of Brough Memorial Hall. with our usual winter opening hours of 9.30am to 1 pm. This earlier closing time will also apply to the next market.
We would like to wish a Happy and Prosperous New Year to all our customers and stall holders.
The hall interior may look rather different, because since the last market one of the side rooms has been re-plastered. The central heating repairs meant that lifted flooring showed that flooring repairs would also be needed in one corner, so the hall management decided to get the complete floor sanded and re-sealed. It had been looking increasingly shabby, and the plastering had made it look worse. So the floor was done after the re-plastering had finished.
STALLS
We hope that our vegetable stall's vehicle problems have been sorted, so they will be here as usual. Some years they have surprised us with early specials (purple broccoli, etc the advantages of growing in glasshouses). Who knows, but we do NOT expect any tomatoes yet!
The venison stall will be back, and, as organisers, we look forward to hearing where they went.
We also expect the plant stall, unless they are snowed in. (As I write this we have just had our first lying snow of the winter. But the last two winters have been so much more severe than the previous ten years, so surely we can live in hope).
We also expect our poultry stall to be with us as usual, in spite of having just had his other hip joint replaced. He gave advanced notice last month that he would be asking for help to set up his stall.
All our other stalls are expected. They will be selling their lamb, beef, pork, venison, poultry and eggs, cheese, vegetables, cakes, jams, fudge and chocolates, plants, silver, and greeting cards, all grown or made locally, with nearly everything you could want for the kitchen!. This is just a flavour of what is available, it’s impossible to list every single item – you really need to come and see for yourself. Everyone has their own favourite purchase. We continue to offer the possibility of having some really fantastic food almost on your doorstep.
Remember, all our stalls (except the vegetable stall and plant stall) are indoors, under cover and thus independent of the weather, and the two outside have canopies to shield them and you from the worst of the weather.
